Professor Asif Raza is a consultant urological surgeon with expertise in minimal access (keyhole) surgery and endourology for kidney stones using laser. He graduated from Glasgow University Medical School in 1991 and completed his registrar training in urology in Scotland, including training at the Scottish Lithotriptor (Stone) Centre in Edinburgh. Professor Raza is an honorary associate professor at the Rila Institute of Health Sciences and Plymouth University, and an honorary senior clinical lecturer at Imperial College Medical School, London. He is the programme lead for urology at the Rila Institute and serves as the regional advisor for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. His clinical expertise includes treating benign prostate conditions, prostate surgery, urinary infections, blood in the urine, penile and testicular problems, and bladder issues. Professor Raza's proficiency extends to procedures such as percutaneous nephrolithotomy (keyhole removal of kidney stones), ESWL (shockwave treatment for kidney stones), TURP, Memokath prostate and ureter stents, cystolitholopaxy (bladder stone treatment), green light laser prostate surgery, and bipolar prostate surgery.
