Dr Wilson is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in the treatment of thoracic malignancies (non-small cell lung cancer, small-cell lung cancer, mesothelioma, thymoma). He also offers radiotherapy for skin cancers (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma).
James Wilson completed his DPhil (PhD) at the University of Oxford in 2015, having been awarded a Cancer Research UK/Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council fellowship. He finished his training at the Royal Marsden Hospital and was awarded a prestigious National Institute for Health Research Clinical Lectureship position at The Institute of Cancer Research in 2016. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists.
He is a core member of the oligometastatic multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and offers stereotactic radiotherapy for primary and secondary lung cancers and metastases to the spine, bone and other sites. He represents clinical oncology at the specialist spinal tumour MDT at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
Dr Wilson has worked in London's leading cancer centres. He is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at University College London Hospital. As an Associate Professor at UCL he is leading research to improve treatment outcomes for patients. Dr Wilson is a specialist committee member for NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).
