Professor Francesca Morgante is an experienced Consultant Neurologist, Professor of Neurology, and the Eleanor Peel Chair for the Study of Ageing at St George’s University of London (SGUL). She is an Honorary Consultant Neurologist at St George’s University Hospital London, where she leads the Advanced Movement Disorders Therapies Team, and she also sees private patients at The Lister Hospital. Within SGUL, she leads the Movement Disorders research team and co-leads the Neuromodulation research group alongside Mr Erlick Pereira.
Her research focuses on Movement Disorders including Parkinson’s disease, tremor syndromes, and dystonia, with a strong emphasis on understanding their neural mechanisms and translating these findings into innovative invasive and non-invasive neuromodulation treatments.
Professor Morgante has authored over 180 papers in peer-reviewed journals and contributed numerous book chapters dedicated to Movement Disorders. She also serves as an Associate Editor of the Movement Disorders Journal and sits on the editorial boards of Movement Disorders, Movement Disorders Clinical Practice, European Journal of Neurology, and Journal of Neurology.
