About
Mr. Ibrahim is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in injuries and painful conditions of the arm, including nerve-related issues. He places great emphasis on making an accurate diagnosis and incorporates the latest research on the biomechanical causes of the problem. This approach enables him to offer tailored treatment options that maximise recovery potential and minimise the risk of recurrence.
Mr. Ibrahim believes that most conditions are best managed without surgery. However, when surgery is necessary, he is highly skilled in a comprehensive range of procedures for the shoulder, upper arm, elbow, forearm, and wrist, including the latest minimally invasive keyhole techniques.
Common conditions treated by Mr. Ibrahim include rotator cuff tears, impingement, bursitis, frozen shoulder, first-time and recurrent shoulder dislocations, biceps tendon tears, shoulder and elbow arthritis, tennis and golfer’s elbow, cubital tunnel syndrome, and carpal tunnel syndrome. He also treats fractures and dislocations affecting the shoulder, upper arm, elbow, forearm, and wrist.
Mr. Ibrahim graduated with distinction and a first-class honours degree in Orthopaedics from University College London, with accredited Orthopaedic training at Harvard Medical School. He completed basic surgical training at the Oxford School of Surgery, where he also taught Anatomy at Oxford University, and went on to complete higher Orthopaedic training through the prestigious Imperial College London rotation. During this time, he won first prize for his master's degree in Surgical Education. His thesis, which explored how an Orthopaedic Surgeon should prepare for complex surgery, was groundbreaking and has been published as a peer-reviewed article and book chapter.
Further specialising in nerve surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Mr. Ibrahim also completed a fellowship in upper limb surgery at the Royal Derby ‘Superhospital,’ including training at the renowned Pulvertaft Hand and Wrist Unit. As a travelling fellow of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, he gained insight from leading surgeons in Lyon and Stockholm. Additionally, he is a Clinical Leader with the British Orthopaedic Association and was sponsored to establish the UK’s first Enhanced Recovery Programme for shoulder replacement surgery.
A former captain of the University of London tennis team, Mr. Ibrahim continues to represent The Queen’s Club in competition. His ongoing involvement in sport gives him a unique understanding of the treatment needed for patients aiming to return to sports, especially racket and overhead sports.
