Susie Gabbie

Dr Susie Gabbie is a highly experienced Consultant Paediatrician with a broad and well-rounded clinical background. She qualified in medicine from the University of Bristol in 1996 and went on to complete postgraduate training across a range of hospitals in the South-West of England and London. Her early career included extensive experience in emergency care, neonatal medicine and general paediatrics. Although she initially specialised in paediatric oncology during her senior training years, she ultimately found her true vocation in general paediatrics and was appointed as a Consultant in 2009, following completion of her training at Barnet.

As a mother of three, Dr Gabbie brings a deep personal understanding of the concerns faced by both parents and children, which strongly informs her compassionate, family-centred approach to care. She particularly enjoys building strong relationships with families and providing holistic, individualised care. Her clinical interests include supporting children with sleep difficulties, and she also holds the important role of Named Doctor for Child Safeguarding.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Gabbie holds several senior leadership and educational roles. She is the Service Lead Paediatrician, overseeing a team of 24 consultant paediatricians, and serves as College Tutor, where she is responsible for the training and development of medical trainees and the implementation of innovative teaching approaches to support safe, high-quality care. In addition, she works as a Performance Assessor and Assessor Trainer for the General Medical Council, contributing to national standards in medical practice and education.
