Dr. Stuart Harris is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist with a specialist interest in arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), catheter ablations, and implantable ICDs and pacemakers. After qualifying from St Bartholomew's Medical College in 1995, he completed his cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology training in London and Edinburgh. Dr. Harris was initially appointed as a consultant cardiologist at St Bartholomew's in 2005 before taking up a post as a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist in 2007. He is the arrhythmia lead for the Essex Cardiac and Stroke Network and has served as Medical Director and Deputy Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Harris is actively involved in clinical research on atrial fibrillation, the use of implantable devices in the treatment of heart failure, and the effects of pacing on heart function. He is a Council Member and Treasurer of the British Heart Rhythm Society. His clinical expertise includes cardiac pacing, cardiac re-synchronisation therapy, catheter ablation, defibrillator implantation, pacemaker implantation, arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), atrial fibrillation, and heart attack.
