Dr Sayan Sen is an internationally renowned Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in both general and interventional cardiology, based at Hammersmith Hospital in London. Dr Sen also heads up the Imperial NHS Trust Cardiology Service for Central and West London and is also a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London. His key areas of expertise include assessing and managing coronary artery disease and cardiac valve disease. He also expertly performs transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and pacemaker insertion, CT angiography, invasive coronary angiography and coronary angioplasty.
Dr Sen obtained his medical degree with distinction in 2003 from University College London, after which he embarked upon further qualifications and extensive specialty training. His academic and clinical proficiency has earned him many honours and awards over the years, including the Imperial College Armstrong Medal and Prize (2012), the Investigator of the Year Award at the British Cardiac Intervention Society Advanced Coronary Intervention (2012), The Royal Society of Medicine Investigator of the Year Award (2013) and The Royal Society of Medicine President's Gold Medal (2013).
Dr Sen is widely acknowledged for his contribution to advancing the field of cardiology. He has published much of his work in leading international journals and leads a PhD research programme centred around improving patient care. He is invited to share his skills and experience with cardiologists all over the globe, by way of lecture, training workshops and evening performing 'live' procedures at global cardiology conferences.
