Ron Simon is Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at North Middlesex University Hospital and the Barts Heart Centre and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Royal Free and University College Medical Schools. Ron studied medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals London qualifying in 1991 and trained in Cardiology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. His MD is in 3D intracardiac echocardiography imaging for complex ablations, awarded by London University. Ron was visiting fellow in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Medical University of South Carolina USA 2003-2005. Since joining the North Middlesex Hospital in 2005 he has initiated and set-up a specialist arrhythmia clinic locally which allows direct listing of patients for ablation at the Heart Hospital and have listed over 500 patients. He has also been instrumental in setting up a multidisciplinary heart failure clinic for our catchment area. He helped set up a service that allows the catheter based treatments of patients with suitable rhythm disturbance locally.
His key interests are treatment of heart rhythm disturbances, including ablation and device therapy, general cardiology and heart failure treatment, and medical education.
