Dr Ravi Assomull is a highly accredited Consultant Cardiologist based in London, with extensive experience. Dr Assomull is the lead clinician for cardiac outpatients at Imperial College NHS Trust and practices in hospitals of the London North West Healthcare NHS Trust as an Interventional Cardiologist. He is also a co-founder of the prestigious One Heart Clinic, Harley Street, a private clinic providing top quality care and diagnostic services.
Dr Assomull's is proficient in all aspects of cardiology, primarily in cardiovascular risk prevention and advanced cardiovascular imaging (cardiac CT and MRI), often using these imaging methods to obtain comprehensive imaging of the heart to guide subsequent invasive procedures.
After graduating with a medical degree in 1999 from the University of Cambridge, Dr Assomull was awarded a Junior Fellowship by the British Heart Foundation, which provided funding for a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in London at The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) Unit of the Royal Brompton Hospital. He then went on to complete specialist training in cardiology in North West London where he received the distinguished Imperial College London Interventional Cardiology Fellowship two years in a row.
Dr Assomull likes to keep abreast of the latest research and investigations in his field, in order to provide his patients with a tailored, patient-centred approach and permit accurate, efficient and safe diagnoses to be made. He is also extremely understanding of the importance of lifestyle adjustments during his consultations, placing particular importance on preventative measures such as optimising diet and exercise regimes.
Demonstrating his passion for the field of cardiology, he has presented his research at a number of international conferences in both Europe and the USA. He has also published widely in the field and is often cited in medical literature. Dr Assomull remains involved with research centred around the applications of cardiac MRI and coronary intervention in present-day clinical practice. Recognising his impressive contribution to research, the University of Cambridge awarded his thesis with Ralph Noble Prize in 2012.
