Dr Nisith Sheth is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology, a world class centre striving to advance dermatological treatment, research and education based at Guys' and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Established in 1868, St John’s Institute of Dermatology is the largest clinical dermatology department in the UK. In addition to his substantive consultant post here, Dr Sheth is also involved in training junior doctors and educating honorary consultants visiting from external departments who are looking to gain experience in the UK and further afield.
Entering with a British Medical Association scholarship, Dr Sheth graduated from University College Hospital Medical School with both class and national prizes. He then embarked on training in the UK, USA and Canada. He completed additional fellowship training in complex skin surgery, which included minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, lasers and Mohs micrographic surgery. As a result of his contributions to melanoma skin cancer research, Dr Sheth received an award from the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr Sheth treats a range of skin problems including moles, skin cancers, acne, rosacea, scars, eczema, psoriasis, discolouration and ageing skin. In addition, he often receives referrals from other specialists and GPs for his expert opinion on the management of various skin problems and complications following cosmetic procedures. He is equipped with the latest technology and is supported by a number of highly respected colleagues from other fields who he can refer to when managing his most complex cases.
Dr Sheth is frequently invited to present at conferences, being a regular speaker for the European Society of Micrographic Surgery. Dr Sheth is a board member of a number of national and European committees, including the Royal College of Surgeons Cosmetic and Reconstructive Interface Group and the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group. He is also a representative for The Royal College of Physicians.
