Dr Muftah Eltumi is a Consultant Paediatrician with a specialist interest in gastroenterology, with over 20 years of experience in paediatric medicine. He specialises in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal conditions in children, including infantile colic, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, food and milk intolerance, coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, recurrent abdominal pain, feeding disorders, and food aversion. He is experienced in paediatric diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including polypectomy and gastrostomy insertion.
In 1992, Dr Eltumi was appointed Lecturer and Senior Registrar at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, where he co-established the Paediatric Gastroenterology Unit based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In 1997, he moved to Watford General Hospital, where he founded a dedicated Children’s Gastrointestinal and Endoscopy Unit. He retired from his NHS post in 2014. Throughout his career, Dr Eltumi has held senior clinical roles and published research in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Dr Eltumi currently treats patients at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children.
