About

Former President of The British Thyroid Association, Dr Vanderpump is a consultant endocrinologist currently working privately within several London Clinics. Having graduated from University of Birmingham in 1987, he underwent specialised training in diabetes and endocrinology, working through various training posts in both the Midlands and North East England.

Later in his career, he started working as a consultant at the North Middlesex Hospital NHS Trust in 1996. His work as an NHS consultant would span 20 years, before Dr Vanderpump's NHS career came to an end at the Royal Free in 2016, following 17 year career at the hospital.

Dr Vanderpump's main area of expertise is thyroid disease, however owing to his extensive medical expertise, his clinical practice includes all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology. In addition to this, he also undertakes medico-legal work within his specialty. He is the current Chair of the London Consultants’ Association.

Due to his vast experience and knowledge about diabetes and endocrinology, it should come as no surprise that he has frequently been present on national television to talk about these topics. As a patient of Dr Vanderpump’s, not only will you be under the care and supervision of one of the country’s leading experts in endocrinology; where necessary, Dr Vanderpump ensures that you benefit from the expertise and skills of a meticulously chosen multidisciplinary team.
