James Mackay

Dr. James Mackay is the only accredited Consultant Clinical Genetic Oncologist in the UK, with a special interest in cancer genetics, inherited cancer, cancer screening, and the introduction of complex genetic tests into clinical cancer care. He established regional cancer genetics services and developed a remote cancer genetics service using real-time tele-conferencing technology. Dr. Mackay is an honorary senior lecturer at the University College London and has initiated significant trials, including the Genetic Breast Cancer Trial. His areas of expertise include BRCA testing, inherited genetic panel testing, the use of somatic genetic tests for prognostic information, cancer genetics, family history clinics, and family cancer risk assessment.
