Dr Lieberman is a Consultant in Pain Medicine based in Manchester, UK. Since qualifying from The London Hospital Medical College in 1990 he has held various positions around the UK. He returned to Manchester in 1992 and gained his fellowship from the Royal College of Anaesthesia, FRCA in 1996, following a year as the Chronic Pain Fellow at the Walton Center for Neurology and Neurosurgery he subspecialised in Pain Medicine. He was appointed as a Consultant in Pain Medicine & Anaesthesia

at Wythenshawe Hospital part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

(MFT) in 2001.

He sees and treats chronic non-malignant pain conditions regularly including, the prescription of medical cannabis, the treatment of complex regional pain syndrome, the management of neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia as well as the management of chronic neck, back, and shoulder pain.

Dr Lieberman offers face to face consultation or if this is not possible remote assessment through Zoom or Teams.

Dr Lieberman has a particular interest in the management of Fibromyalgia, he manages this issue with a combination of education, pharmacological therapies, and health coaching. He is able to offer management of Fibromyalgia remotely through a combination of video consultation and telephone support whatever is most convenient.

With over 18 years of experience working as a medico-legal expert in Pain Medicine, he can advise and report on all types of chronic pain conditions. His current instruction ratio is 50:50

Beyond work, he enjoys gardening and golf.

Growing up Ilan was a keen sportsman himself, playing rugby for School, Club and University.

He has completed 3 Etape de Tours but is now a Zwifter. He is most at peace in his garden pottering with the plants.
