Dr Dhiren Shah graduated in Medicine from Cambridge University in 1999 and St. George's Hospital, London in 2002, earning an MBBS with Distinction. He trained in Surgery in London and Bristol, obtaining his MRCS in 2006, and subsequently trained in Radiology at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals, London, where he achieved his FRCR in 2010. Dr Shah has completed two fellowships in Musculoskeletal Radiology, at Oxford and Toronto.

He has significant expertise in sports imaging and has served as an MSK radiologist at several major events, including the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow (2014), European Games in Baku (2015), World Athletics Championships in London (2017), and Asian Indoor Games in Ashgabat (2017). Dr Shah has lectured extensively at general and musculoskeletal radiology conferences and has numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at various radiology meetings.

Dr Shah's NHS appointment is at Northwick Park Hospital in London. His private practice is based in London, particularly at the Wellington.

He has extensive experience in reporting MSK MRI and performing MSK ultrasound scans, exceeding 5,000 each year. His close collaboration with surgeons and rheumatologists has enhanced the accuracy of his MRI reports. Passionate about education, Dr Shah serves as a clinical and educational supervisor for general and MSK radiology trainees and has participated in radiology registrar and consultant recruitment panels since 2014. He has also contributed to quality assurance in radiology training by representing the PMETB and later the GMC on deanery visits and panels.
