About
Dr. Claudine De Munter is a French-speaking paediatrician and paediatric intensivist who trained in Belgium. For the past 17 years, she has worked as a consultant, including the last five years at The Portland for Women and Children. Her wide-ranging medical background and expertise allow her to offer extensive advice on all general paediatric conditions and treatments for any common respiratory, digestive, renal, skin, sleep, and growth, and behavioral disorders. Furthermore, immunisation can be given if required. Upon moving to London, she took up the post of Retrieval Fellow and was responsible for bringing in sick children from all over England's District General Hospitals, via ambulance or helicopter, to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit of St Mary's London. Being familiar with the English, Belgian, and French systems of care, she utilises her expansive understanding of these set-ups to apply a cultivated and holistic approach to her medical care. Dr. De Munter is well placed in aiding families to adjust to the English medical systems while still retaining some of the ideals from the continent. She was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) in 1998 and has been a consultant in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit since 1999. Since 2006, she has developed clinical skills training for medical students and doctors utilising simulation technology.
