Dr Basil Almahdi is a Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia specialist located in London. His clinical interests focus on spinal and degenerative diseases, sciatica and bone metastases as well as palliative treatments for cancer pain and neuropathic pain. He is also interested in keyhole (non-invasive) treatments for issues caused by degenerative spinal diseases. Some examples are disc herniation, spinal stenosis, and radiculopathies.
Almahdi graduated in 1997 and moved onto becoming a Fellow at University College Hospital, training in Pain Management at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Post-fellowship, he went on to Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and The Pain Management Centre at University College Hospital where he was a Locum Consultant. There he expanded his education and expertise in managing complicated spinal pain problems.
Dr Basil Almahdi is a frequent teacher both nationally and internationally in the Pain and Anaesthesia field. He also speaks both English and Arabic. He makes a clear effort to empower his patients and fulfils patient needs when it comes to pain management.
