About
Dr Animesh Singh is a Consultant in Rheumatology and Acute & General Medicine, offering both NHS and private services in London. He works for NHS at the Royal Free Hospital, and works privately at The Princess Grace Hospital, The Physicians' Clinic and Chiswick Medical Centre. His specialist areas of interest include the management of patients with all types of rheumatological disorders, including rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, gout, osteoporosis, lupus (SLE), polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and vasculitis. He is also actively involved in both acute and general medicine practice, which includes assessing and managing acutely sick patients, as well as investigating complex or undifferentiated symptoms.
Dr Singh obtained his medical degree in 2005 at University College London (UCL). He went on to conduct research at the distinguished Windeyer Institute at UCL at the prestigious Windeyer Institute of Medical Sciences at UCL, under the watchful eyes of Professor Isenberg and Professor Ehrenstein. His research focused on the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis and its modulation by anti-TNF therapy, from which he was received multiple awards, including one from Arthritis Research UK.
Dr Singh completed his general medical and rheumatology training at various district general and leading teaching hospitals across north and west London. He also undertook research for a global pharmaceutical company, where he conducted significant clinical trials relating to the rare disease scleroderma and cytokine-release syndrome in leukaemia patients.
Dr Singhs philosophy is to provide his patients with holistic, evidence-based care. He firmly believes in treating patients individually, holding their various beliefs and background in high respect. He takes pride in running his clinics in a collaborative fashion, not just focusing on the medical problems of his patients.
He leads a unique collaborative clinic with highly experienced dermatology consultants at the Royal Free Hospital, which is centred around patients with complex psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Dr Singh is passionate about research and sharing his expertise, being a principal investigator in a number of clinical trials, as well as an educational supervisor for junior doctors and clinical tutor for undergraduate medical students.
