Dr. Andrew Sykes specializes in treating head and neck cancer with chemotherapy and radiotherapy and also provides radiotherapy support for the melanoma team. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Birmingham in 1989 before moving to Manchester to train in oncology. He gained his Fellowship with the Royal College of Radiologists in 1996. Appointed as a Consultant in 1997, Dr. Sykes is currently the Clinical Director of the Department of Clinical Oncology. He is actively involved in research, focusing on radiotherapy and chemotherapy for head and neck cancer and electro-chemotherapy. He currently chairs the Head and Neck Clinical Subgroup for the Greater Manchester & Cheshire Cancer Research Network. His clinical interests include chemotherapy, radiotherapy, head and neck cancer, and skin cancer.
