Mr Moschonas gained his MD from the University of Patras (Greece) in 2003 before going on to train in urology. He then completed a PhD at the University of Athens and went on to complete sub-specialty training in urological oncology. Mr Moschonas was awarded a fellowship in robotic pelvic uro-oncology at Royal Surrey Hospital.
He is a member of the pelvic uro-oncology team at Royal Surrey Hospital where he is also the robotic urology fellowship coordinator. He specialises in robotic surgery for prostate and bladder cancer treatment and is also able to treat most general urology problems (male and female), pediatric foreskin problems, benign prostate hyperplasia, stones, and pelvic cancer diagnostics and treatment. Within his department, Mr Moschonas has recently introduced Rezum as a minimally invasive treatment for benign prostate hyperplasia. He also introduced transperineal prostate biopsies under anesthetic and now offers fusion-guided targeted prostate biopsies to improve prostate cancer diagnostics. During his career, Mr. Moschonas has had his work widely published in urological and oncological journals. His current work is looking at novel biomarkers in prostate and bladder cancer. He is also involved in national trials of robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy.
