About

Miss Cheryl Lobo is a Consultant Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of breast conditions, having cared for patients with breast disease since 2007. She provides a rapid-access, one-stop breast clinic, where patients can undergo advanced breast imaging and, when required, biopsies during their initial appointment, with results available on the same day.

Her practice encompasses the full spectrum of breast disease, with a strong focus on long-term survivorship and the changing health needs of women today. Patients value her thorough and compassionate approach, as well as her ability to explain complex information clearly and support them in making informed decisions about their care. The Tatler Breast Surgeons Guide 2025 recognised her as "a leader in modern breast surgery, blending medical mastery with aesthetic vision to deliver exceptional care for women facing breast disease."

Miss Lobo treats women diagnosed with breast cancer following the development of symptoms, through breast screening, or because of a significant family history and increased genetic risk. As an experienced oncoplastic surgeon, she brings together advanced breast cancer surgery and contemporary plastic surgical techniques. This approach aims to achieve effective cancer treatment while preserving or improving the appearance and shape of the breast wherever possible.

Receiving a diagnosis of breast cancer can be an extremely difficult and uncertain time. Miss Lobo offers second-opinion consultations that provide an opportunity to reassess the diagnosis, discuss the available treatment options and develop a personalised plan based on the individual patient and their specific cancer. By gaining a clearer understanding of the diagnosis and treatment pathway, patients can feel more reassured and confident when making important decisions about their care.

Her work also extends beyond the treatment of breast cancer. Miss Lobo has a particular interest in promoting breast health, identifying individual cancer risk and helping women make informed choices about screening and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). She is frequently invited to contribute to events focusing on longevity, menopause and women's health, and is actively involved in initiatives designed to improve breast health education among school-aged children and young people.

Alongside her clinical responsibilities, Miss Lobo has taken on a number of important leadership and service-development roles. She established the Breast Sarcoma Tertiary Referral Centre within the London Sarcoma Service, recognised as the largest sarcoma service in Europe, and co-founded the charity Phyllodes UK. She has also held the position of Co-Chair of the Proton Beam Therapy and Cancer Development Board at University College London Hospital.

Miss Lobo graduated with honours from Imperial College London before completing her specialist training in breast surgery at The Royal Marsden. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and has maintained an active involvement in professional organisations and the wider breast surgery community.
