Dr. Carolina Fernandez is a consultant dermatologist affiliated with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She graduated from Imperial College London Medical School, where she obtained her medical degree in 2009. Remaining in London for her postgraduate training, Dr. Fernandez began her dermatology specialisation within the South London Training Programme.

During her training, she gained experience at renowned institutions such as St George’s Hospital, St. Helier Hospital, and Kingston Hospital. Later, she transitioned to the North London Training Programme, further refining her skills at institutions like St Mary’s Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and Charing Cross Hospital. Dr. Fernandez's commitment to medical education led her to pursue a postgraduate diploma in medical education at St George’s University, where she also served as an educational teaching fellow in dermatology for a year.

Dr. Fernandez's expertise lies in various dermatological areas, including skin cancer, genetic skin cancer, familial syndromes, and inflammatory dermatoses. Her dedication to advancing knowledge in dermatology is evident through her involvement in numerous research projects and clinical trials. She is a frequent presenter, having shared her insights widely, and has received several awards for her presentations.

Currently, Dr. Fernandez collaborates with a clinical geneticist to run a specialised dermatology genetics clinic. In this clinic, they assess patients for genetically acquired skin cancers or familial cancer syndromes. Dr. Fernandez continues to make strides in patient care, research, and education at Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital.
