Dr. Nadir is a leading national and international expert in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (TEER/MitraClip), and other novel keyhole treatments for heart valve disease. Trained in the USA, he is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Lead for Cardiovascular Disease at Birmingham & Solihull Integrated Care System (ICS), and an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology.

A pioneer in advanced cardiac treatments, Dr. Nadir has played a pivotal role in bringing cutting-edge, minimally invasive therapies to Birmingham. He has performed many of the region’s first procedures for heart valve disease at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, expanding access to world-class cardiac care. His pursuit of excellence led him to complete an advanced fellowship in interventional and structural cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, one of the top-ranked hospitals in the United States. During this time, he refined his expertise in minimally invasive heart valve repair and replacement, transforming patient outcomes and advancing cardiac treatment approaches. His research focuses on coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease, with publications in leading cardiology journals, including Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and the European Journal of Heart Failure.
