With wide-ranging experience, Dr. Nadir manages all aspects of cardiology. He is a national expert in minimally invasive heart valve replacement and repair procedures, including TAVI and MitraClip.
Dr. Nadir's professional journey began with medical and cardiology training in the West Midlands and Northwest England. A pivotal phase as a British Heart Foundation Fellow in Scotland led to the discovery of innovative techniques for early heart disease detection. His research received the prestigious first prize from the Scottish Society of Physicians in 2010 and was published in esteemed international journals, including the Lancet, Circulation, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded his doctorate in 2011 for his thesis.
Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Dr. Nadir pursued an advanced fellowship in interventional and structural cardiology at the esteemed Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. During this tenure, he refined his skills in performing minimally invasive heart valve repair and replacement procedures, including TAVI and MitraClip, which are considered revolutionary treatment modalities.
His approach is comprehensive, covering the management of various heart conditions with a strong focus on prevention. Dr. Nadir specializes in addressing chest pains, palpitations, breathlessness, dizziness, heart valve disease, angina, and heart failure, as well as optimizing heart conditions pre-major surgery.
In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Nadir is dedicated to education. He spearheads educational initiatives within the cardiology department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and holds an honorary senior lecturer position at the University of Birmingham. His commitment to teaching extends globally, as he mentors medical students and cardiologists worldwide, promoting knowledge exchange and skill development.
As an advocate for patient empowerment, Dr. Nadir excels in simplifying complex medical concepts and facilitating informed decision-making through accessible information technology. He prioritizes the establishment of trust, effective communication, and continuity of care, emphasizing a collaborative partnership with patients for optimal outcomes.
Outside of his medical endeavours, Dr. Nadir cherishes moments with his family and enjoys hobbies such as cycling, skiing, and tending to his garden.
