When you choose HCA UK, you’ll have access to leading consultant andrologists and the latest diagnostics. Our team can treat a wide range of conditions that affect the male reproductive system, providing personalised care in state-of-the-art facilities.

We can help with the following:

Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is a common problem, and it can be frustrating and distressing to live with. Our consultants can talk you through the many treatments that can help.

Male infertility

Our infertility specialists are experts in male infertility care, helping you on your family planning journey to enhance fertility.

Undescended testicles

A common childhood condition where a boy's testicles do not descend into the scrotum.

Varicocele (testicular lumps)

Our expert urologists and interventional radiology teams offer advanced techniques and minimally invasive options to rapidly assess and treat varicocele (testicular lumps). Early intervention is recommended, so if you’re worried, get in touch.

Penile cancer

Around 500 men are diagnosed with this rare form of cancer in the UK each year, most frequently those over the age of 50

Testicular cancer

Testicular cancers are also known as germ cell tumours. Germ cells produce sperm in men. At HCA UK we have a team of specialists who are experts in the treatment of testicular cancer. Seminoma and non-seminoma tumours are the most common types of testicular cancers.

Circumcision

Removal of the retractable fold of skin (foreskin) that covers the end of the penis.

Vascectomy

A vasectomy is a minor surgical procedure offering permanent contraception by sealing the tubes that carry sperm.

Vasectomy Reversal

Vasectomy reversal is a procedure that reconnects the tubes (vas deferens) that were cut or sealed during a vasectomy, allowing sperm to travel again, and potentially restoring male fertility.

Surgical Sperm Retrieval

Surgical sperm retrieval surgically extracts sperm from the testicles or epididymis when sperm cannot be obtained through ejaculation. The sperm are used in assisted reproductive techniques like IVF or ICSI.

Semen analysis

Our London fertility clinics offer semen analysis tests to assess sperm health and fertility. You'll get the discreet help and support you need.

Sperm DNA test

Sperm DNA testing assesses the genetic quality of sperm, identifying DNA fragmentation that may impact fertility, IVF success and miscarriage risk. It offers valuable insight for tailored fertility treatment decisions.

Male fertility treatments

Treating male infertility.

Penile reconstruction

We offer penile reconstruction after an injury or cancer surgery, and to treat congenital conditions and Peyronie’s disease. The procedure restores the appearance and function of the penis, including urinary and sexual function.

Hydrocele surgery

This procedure is used to remove or repair a hydrocele, which is a fluid-filled sac that surrounds your testicle.

ANDROLOGY CARE AT HCA UK

What to expect
From the moment you step through the door, until you’re ready to leave, we want you to feel as comfortable and reassured as possible.

One of the ways we can put you at ease is to let you know what to expect at each stage of your andrology investigation and treatment process.

If you have any questions that aren’t answered here or in the FAQ section below, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our team will be happy to help in any way they can.

01

Initial consultation

Whether you’ve self-referred to us or have a referral from your GP, the first step is always an initial consultation with one of our andrology specialists.

At this appointment, your consultant will ask about your medical history and symptoms. Your consultant will need to carry out a physical examination, which involves checking your penis, scrotum and testicles. They’ll also refer you for any tests and scans, so they can make an accurate diagnosis.

02

Tests and scans

At HCA UK, you’ll have access to the UK’s most comprehensive private diagnostics network.

To help find the cause of your symptoms, your consultant may arrange for you to have blood tests, semen analysis, and/or an ultrasound. All of our state-of-the-art laboratories are on-site, which means we're able to give patients faster results, often in as little as 48 hours, and a faster path to timely treatment.

03

Follow-up appointment and next steps

You’ll meet with your consultant again, who’ll discuss your test and scan results with you and share their diagnosis. Treatment will depend on your condition and symptoms, and will be carefully tailored to you. If you have any questions, your consultant will be happy to answer them.

Our patients’ stories

world cancer day jeff still.jpg

Jeff's penile cancer experience

We speak to Jeff Addison, a 49-year-old husband and father of two who was diagnosed with penile cancer back in 2017. When he received his diagnosis, no one close to him had been diagnosed with cancer, and when he looked online, he found very few patients who were his age and had spoken about penile cancer and its impact.
Alice and Aaron patient story ICSI IVF Lister Fertility Clinic.jpg

Alice and Aaron's fertility treatment

After being told they’d never have children, Alice and Aaron turned to the Lister Fertility Clinic. They now have a beautiful two-year-old daughter.

Mr Suks Minhas put me at ease from my first appointment, explaining clearly my situation and the various options and the benefits and drawbacks of each, with his friendly, professional manner. He then performed a successful procedure on me which has ultimately allowed my wife and I to recently have a child via IVF.
