Cancer Nursing at HCA UK
Meet the team HCA at UCH
Take a look behind the scenes at HCA at University College Hospital, one of our specialist cancer centres and meet some of our Oncology and Haematology nursing team.
Alvaro: Deputy Charge Nurse
After moving to the UK and working as an agency nurse Alvaro made the switch to permanent and in his own words it was a game changer. Now he works as a Deputy Charge nurse at HCA at UCH, one of our specialist cancer centres, after being inspired to help others following his friends cancer diagnosis. Here he talks more about what his role involves, how he leads and motivates his team and how he prides himself on being there for others.
Emily: Day care Sister
After her brother was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was younger Emily has always wanted to help people at their most vulnerable. Here she tells us more about her role as a Day Case Sister, how she’s progressed her career from being a student nurse at HCA at UCH, and how her role allows her to give back to others while working at the forefront of cancer care.
Rhommel: Deputy Charge Nurse
Coming from a background in renal nursing Rhommel already had an understanding of what working in haematology involves. Now he’s living the HCA way and encouraging others to do the same after moving from a Senior Staff Nurse to Deputy Charge Nurse. Here he tells us more about his passion for patient care, and why everyone should live the HCA way.
