    Mr Michael Oddy was appointed as a full time consultant in trauma and orthopaedic surgery at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2009. His elective practice specialises in foot and ankle surgery and in addition he manages general trauma emergencies. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

    Having read for a medical and natural sciences degree at Christ"s College, University of Cambridge and graduating in 1994, Mr Oddy continued clinical training through the University of Cambridge at Addenbrooke"s hospital qualifying with his MB B.Chir in 1996. Following basic surgical training in London, he read for a Master of Science degree at University College London, being awarded a distinction in 2002 with research into tendons. Orthopaedic specialist registrar training on the St Bartholomew"s hospital Percivall Pott rotation included foot and ankle posts in Norwich and at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore before completing a foot and ankle fellowship in Sheffield. He also has fellowship training in paediatric orthopaedics at the RNOH in Stanmore.

    Mr Oddy"s practice includes all aspects of elective and trauma foot and ankle surgery including fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, arthritis, foot deformity, bunion and toe problems. He also has a particular interest in diabetic and neurological foot problems and is a member of the diabetic foot service at UCLH. He has an ongoing interest in research and is also involved with teaching medical students and orthopaedic trainees at UCL medical school.
