We’re looking for experienced and flexible Bank Healthcare Assistants to support our acute nursing teams across HCA Healthcare UK’s London hospitals. This is a great opportunity for HCAs seeking regular bank shifts, combining flexibility with the chance to work in high‑quality acute environments.
Working under the supervision of registered nurses, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, compassionate care—supporting patients with observations, basic clinical care, ward activities, and clinical procedures, while helping to maintain a clean, safe, and well‑run ward.
As part of our bank workforce, you’ll enjoy flexible shift opportunities across a network of leading private hospitals, including services rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. You’ll work alongside expert clinicians, gain valuable experience with one of the UK’s leading private healthcare providers, and stay in control of when and where you work. We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates with availability Monday to Friday, with flexibility for days and/or nights.
What you’ll do:
Provide clinical support to nursing and medical teams under the supervision of a registered nurse, including basic observations and clinical documentation.
Support patients’ comfort, dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and overall care experience in line with hospital policies.
Assist with chaperoning patients and supporting clinical procedures as required.
Maintain ward stock levels and ensure equipment is safe, available, and used appropriately.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams, escalate concerns promptly, and support infection prevention and control through hygiene practices and equipment decontamination.
What you’ll bring
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
Care Certificate
Experience working within an acute hospital and general ward setting
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Phlebotomy training desirable
