Salary: Up to £35k depending on experience

We’re looking for a Health and Wellbeing Physiologist to work for our client in Glasgow. There will also be once a month in Sunderland (with an overnight) and expenses will be paid. You will be based on our clients site.

You'll work in co-operation with the HCA UK Primary Care team including Doctors, Nurses, Physiologists, Dietitians, Psychologists and Healthcare Assistants and be part of a team that provides mini health check consultations to our patients face to face as well as remote 1:1 coaching.

You'll be able to undertake, without supervision the following body composition assessments and measurements, including capillary blood tests (table top analysed); height, weight, blood pressure, and associated wellbeing lifestyle questionnaires, and other medical tests relevant to training and record clinical compliances adequately.

You will also:

  • Interpret clinical data, and deliver appropriate wellbeing and lifestyle advice
  • Recommend appropriate escalation and in line with agreed triggers, to other clinical support as required, including  behavioural coaching, or signposting to GP or other clinical services available to the patient.
  • Deliver 1:1 health coaching, 4 sessions over 12 week period, encouraging positive goal setting and behaviour change
  • Lead health screening promotional days externally for corporate clients as required.
  • Record clinical data and reports onto the medical database system
  • Complete patient consultation and health coaching reports on clinical management system

What you’ll bring:

  • A methodical and organised approach to your work and must be attentive to detail. 
  • The ability to communicate sensitively with patients and at times when understanding and level of cooperation may be compromised by age, disability illness, or other factors.
  • Ability to take initiative and coordinate effectively with colleagues i.e. the I.T department, Operations, Administration and others.
  • Understanding of the interpretation of scientific or laboratory data and can translate it to simple form
  • Flexible in working practice and able to work under pressure to deadlines.
  • Good IT Skills
  • Good written and spoken English with strong and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology related to cardiology, vascular and respiratory sciences.
