About the position:

We are looking for a Capital Project Manager to join our client-side Capital Projects team, supporting the delivery of healthcare capital projects across HCA Healthcare UK.

You will manage small to medium-sized projects from early briefing, design and tender through to construction, commissioning and handover. Projects range from new medical technology and diagnostic imaging replacements through to theatre refurbishments, major department upgrades and new hospital developments.

Our Capital Projects team is focused on delivering world-class healthcare environments to the highest quality standards, putting patients, clinicians and colleagues at the heart of every project. This role is well suited to a developing Project Manager looking to grow their client-side experience in a complex, live healthcare environment, with structured support from senior colleagues.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Act as a client-side Capital Project Manager, delivering multiple capital projects across the HCA Healthcare UK estate.

  • Manage projects through all stages of the lifecycle, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, quality, programme and budget.

  • Establish clear communication and reporting throughout the project lifecycle to support effective decision-making.

  • Support tendering and procurement processes to deliver value for money and maximise return on capital investment.

  • Manage project budgets including forecasting, cost control and accruals.

  • Identify, manage and report project risks, issues and opportunities using approved project management systems.

  • Ensure all projects are delivered in line with relevant legislation and standards, including the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, HTMs and HBNs.

Skills and experience:

  • A track record in delivering client-side multi-disciplinary projects with experience of managing the financials of construction projects.

  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the construction project process from briefing through to post-completion.

  • Experience in delivering infrastructure and asset projects in complex (Preferably healthcare) or another live environment.

  • A good understanding of construction legislation, Building Safety Act, Building Control and Planning Law

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills with an ability to present to Exec level / Board members.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to understand complex construction based problems and simplify into concise coherent explanations or messaging to non-construction stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree in Construction Management or Hold an industry recognised qualification with a successful track record of methodology use and implementation is desirable
