We’re looking for a Senior Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics to join our theatre team at Private Care at Guy’s, part of London Bridge Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. This is a setting where advanced technology, clinical expertise and collaborative working come together every day. With four operating theatres, three Da Vinci Surgical Systems and one of the largest multi‑specialty private robotic programmes in the UK, you’ll be working in an environment designed to support safe, progressive and high‑quality perioperative care.
Private Care at Guy’s supports a wide range of complex elective surgery, including robotics, urology and gynaecology. Alongside forty‑nine patient bedrooms and four Level three ICU beds, the service delivers acute and complex care rarely found in the private sector. You’ll be surrounded by experienced colleagues who value teamwork, learning and shared responsibility, and you’ll have access to facilities and equipment that allow you to practise at the highest standard.
As a Senior Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics, you’ll play a key role across the perioperative pathway, supporting patients before, during and after surgery. Your day‑to‑day work will include providing specialist anaesthetic support, contributing to the smooth running of theatre lists and supporting junior colleagues through mentorship and guidance. You’ll work closely with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure a calm, efficient and patient‑focused service, while helping to maintain high clinical standards within a bright, modern theatre environment.
At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.
What you’ll do:
  • Deliver specialist anaesthetic care across all stages of the perioperative journey
  • Support the day‑to‑day coordination and safe running of theatre services
  • Act as a mentor and role model to support colleagues’ learning and development
  • Work in partnership with consultants and the multidisciplinary team to provide a seamless service
  • Contribute to maintaining high clinical standards and patient safety within theatres
What you’ll bring:
  • Registration as an Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Nurse
  • Postgraduate experience working in UK theatres
  • Proven anaesthetics experience within an acute or surgical setting
  • Completion of a recognised anaesthetics course
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to high standards of patient care
