We’re looking for a Senior Recovery Theatre Practitioner to join our Theatre team at The Princess Grace Hospital in London. With seven theatres across two floors, two dedicated recovery suites and a robotic surgery theatre, this is a fast‑paced, highly specialised environment where patient safety, clinical excellence and teamwork sit at the heart of everything we do. Working alongside world‑class consultants, you’ll be part of a hospital known for delivering complex surgery using advanced technology in a calm, well‑supported setting.
We’d welcome applications from experienced Theatre Practitioners with significant recovery experience who are ready to step into their first Senior Theatre Practitioner role, with the confidence to take on greater responsibility and lead by example.
As a Senior Recovery Theatre Practitioner within theatres, you’ll play a key leadership role in the delivery of safe, high‑quality recovery care. You’ll work closely with anaesthetists, surgeons and theatre colleagues to ensure patients receive attentive, responsive care following complex procedures. Day to day, you’ll take ownership of recovery services, coordinating workflow, supporting theatre lists and guiding junior colleagues. You’ll help maintain high clinical standards through effective governance, clear documentation and a strong focus on patient safety, while contributing to a positive and supportive team culture.
At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.
What you’ll do:
- Take clinical and professional responsibility for recovery services within theatres, ensuring safe and effective patient care
- Lead, support and develop colleagues within the recovery team, providing guidance and day‑to‑day supervision
- Coordinate recovery activity to support efficient theatre lists and complex surgical pathways
- Maintain accurate documentation, audit standards and compliance with clinical governance requirements
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver consistently high standards of care
What you’ll bring:
- Current NMC or HCPC registration
- Significant years of experience working in recovery within operating theatres
- Ideally, experience caring for level 2 patients as well as exposure to complex spinal and robotic cases
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate others
- Clear communication skills and a calm, organised approach in a fast‑paced environment
