Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with contribution to weekend and bank holiday shifts on a rota basis

We have exciting opportunity for a Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our "outstanding" Pharmacy Team at our HCA at UCH site, as rated by the CQC.
 

HCA UK at UCH is a joint partnership between HCA Healthcare UK and University College London Hospital. Our multidisciplinary team of leading consultants and clinical nurse specialists treat, guide and support our patients from diagnostic tests, through to treatment and follow up care.

We work with expert consultant haematologists and oncologists to treat cancer and blood disorders, solid cancer tumours and blood disorders. Our team of leading neurologists and haematologists provide the complete Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) pathway for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS)  

Together we provide an outstanding level of personalised medicine, from diagnostic assessment through to treatment and supportive care. All of our services are delivered in specialist environments by a world-class team, with uncompromising patient safety standards.

As a key member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team,  the Lead Pharmacy Technician will provide leadership and operational management for the core pharmacy operational services.  In collaboration with the Pharmacy Leadership team, you will implement service development strategies to ensure the delivery of a high quality, innovative pharmacy service which consistently meets the needs of all service users.

The post-holder will manage workforce planning, operational services and training and development of the technical team.  They will also be responsible for analysing relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), audit and financial results and preparing reports.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a a Technician with a passion for Oncology, Transplant and Haematology, (however experience in these areas are not compulsory). In return you will get the opportunity to work with some cutting edge medications and experienced consultants providing amazing support to our patients. What you’ll bring:

  • BTEC / NVQ Level 3 qualification in Pharmaceutical Science / Pharmacy Service Skills/PTTP (or equivalent)
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT)
  • Experience of inventory management and stock control
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of Pharmacy Technicians
