Full time: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Mon-Sat - 08:00 – 15:30 and 12:30 – 20:30

We are seeking a caring and empathetic Healthcare Assistant with a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. You will be someone who naturally goes the extra mile, building trust and providing comfort and support to ensure every patient feels valued and cared for.
Our newest hospital brings together leading consultants, innovative medical technologies and state-of-the-art facilities to patients in Birmingham and The West Midlands. We’re providing a new standard of inpatient and outpatient private care in a purpose-built, multi-specialty hospital.
We offer a full suite of diagnostic imaging, we cover all the main medical specialties, from orthopaedics and cardiology to specialist cancer care. The hospital’s facilities include 50 private en-suite inpatient beds, 16 private day care beds, modern outpatient services, four state-of-the-art operating theatres, a fully equipped day-care unit (with outpatient chemotherapy and radiotherapy services), an onsite pharmacy, and a dedicated intensive treatment unit.
As the Healthcare Assistant under the direction of the registered nurse, you will carry out observations, investigations and basic treatments as required. You will also oversee chaperoning of patients and assisting medical staff with day to day duties.

What you'll do:
Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation.
Ensure the clinical area is adequately stocked and prepared for each consultant/clinic.
Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate.
Carry out any other tasks as directed by the lead nurse in support of patientcare.
Flexible and adaptable to changing needs and role requirements.
Genuine passion and interest in working in healthcare.
Meet/Greet patient and taking to consultants' room and other departments.
Act as a chaperone as/when required.
What you'll bring:
Has completed the care certificate or equivalent or working towards one.
Must have experience working in a hospital or outpatients setting.
Understanding of infection prevention and control measures.
Ability to undertake patient observations including height, weight, BP, pulse and BMI etc.
Trained in venepuncture.
Experience assisting in outpatient procedure clinics.
