We’re looking for a Registered Nursing Associate to join our Oncology Nursing team at The Christie Private Care, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. 

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Qualified Nursing Associate to join our dedicated Oncology ward team.

An RNA on an oncology ward contributes to safe cancer care, holistic patient support, treatment monitoring, MDT collaboration, and high‑quality documentation. They bridge the gap between health care assistants and registered nurses, allowing nurses to focus on complex clinical care while RNAs provide robust frontline support within their scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care to oncology patients under the direction of a registered nurse or senior clinician.
• Undertake allocated clinical tasks and supporting safe medication processes in line with policy.
• Support patients with daily living needs while upholding dignity, privacy and compassionate care standards.
• Maintain clear, accurate and timely documentation in accordance with national record‑keeping requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and effective delivery of oncology care.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, reflective practice and training initiatives to maintain and enhance clinical competence

What You’ll Bring

• NMC‑registered Nursing Associate, with active registration and commitment to maintaining professional standards.
• Completion of a Level 5 Nursing Associate Foundation Degree or Level 5 Higher Nursing Associate Apprenticeship, meeting NMC proficiency requirements.
• Acute hospital experience working as a Nursing Associate, ideally within oncology or complex care environments.
• Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, relatives and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to recognise limitations, seek appropriate advice and escalate to a registered nurse or senior clinician when required.
• Excellent interpersonal qualities, demonstrating a polite, respectful and compassionate approach aligned with HCA values.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to safe, coordinated care under appropriate supervision
