About cardiac-oncology
Our cardio-oncology teams supports the overall treatment of cancer patients with cardiovascular disease, before, during and after their treatment.
We monitor patients with cardiovascular disease before their cancer therapy starts because the treatment could damage the heart. We also monitor patients during their treatment so that any side effects can be identified and managed, and we monitor patients who are clear of cancer but who are suffering from heart problems as a result of cancer treatments.
Our multi-disciplinary cardio-oncology team includes oncologists, cardiologists, and specialist nurses. Together, they provide the highest levels of care for people undergoing cancer treatment.
