About

Dr. Alison Wright is a highly respected consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, as well as Vice President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She provides care for patients both within the NHS at the Royal Free Hospital and privately at the Portland Hospital, where she also holds the position of Vice-Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee. In addition, Dr. Wright is currently leading efforts to improve personalised care for maternity services within NHS England and NHS Improvement. Moreover, she serves as the UK representative for safe motherhood and newborn health on behalf of the International Federation.

Dr Wright is deeply committed to providing care that is safe and tailored to the individual needs of women and their families. She takes a patient-centric approach to care, believing firmly in involving women at every stage of their care. Dr Wright enjoys speaking with women about issues that are important to them and believes strongly in informed choice, which can only be achieved through adequate provision of information to women. She is involved in projects aimed at improving healthcare provision for women around the world, in countries such as Africa, India and Indonesia. Previously she spent a year working on a safe motherhood project in rural areas of India coordinating efforts with Mother Teresa's team who served some of Calcutta's most deprived communities.

Dr. Wright gained her medical qualification in 1990 from the University of Leeds. She has been involved in research and has had a number of publications in medical journals.

It is important that HCA is transparent about our relationship with those doctors who provide us with clinical guidance on delivering the best possible care to patients and operating our hospitals safely and efficiently. We set out here some of the ways in which we work together and the amount we pay this doctor for such services.
