Nicholas Faure Walker appointed principal investigator for industry sponsored vaccine trial

The Prostate Centre’s Nicholas Faure Walker has been appointed principal investigator for the industry sponsored E.mbrace Study. Blood infections in adults aged 60 or over can have serious consequences, leading to complications such as dangerously low blood pressure or shock. Often known as invasive E. coli disease (IED), these infections can affect all ages, but adults over 60 have a higher risk of developing them, which is increased further for those who have previously had a urinary tract infection (UTI). The purpose of the E.mbrace Study is to investigate both the effectiveness and safety of an investigational vaccine to prevention these infections.
