    Professor Lloyd trained in London and Cambridge as an ENT surgeon and has a specialist interest in the management of ear conditions including chronic ear infection, hearing reconstruction, hearing implantation including cochlear implants, dizziness, tinnitus and diseases of the skull base including acoustic neuromas. He is part of the busiest skull base and hearing implant team in the UK. Professor Lloyd is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester. He is a council member of the Royal Society of Medicine, Treasurer for the British Cochlear Implant Group and a member of the British Skull Base Society, British Society of Otology and European Academy of Otology and Neurotology.
