    Mr Peter Cuckow qualified in London in 1984 and completed surgical training in Cambridge, Leeds and finally Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, where he was appointed as a Consultant Paediatric Urologist in 1998. He had the honour and good fortune to be trained by 4 Presidents of the European Society of Paediatric Urology (ESPU) – Bob Whitaker, Philip Ransley, Pierre Mouriquand and Patrick Duffy.

    Currently the Lead Surgeon in the Department of Urology at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Mr Cuckow is also Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Urology at the Institute of Urology in London. His honorary visiting consultant posts include Ipswich Hospital, England; Aarhus University, Denmark; Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait; Cardio Infantil Hospital,Bogata, Colombia, and many other visiting Professorships to India, China, Canada, France, Italy and Greece.

    Mr Cuckow’s specialist interests include reconstructive surgery of severe congenital anomalies of the urinary tract, hypospadias and bladder exstrophy. Currently the Lead Clinician in Bladder Exstrophy management at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London he is also involved in the running of the two centre National Exstrophy Service. As the Operating surgeon in approximately 120 cases of bladder exstrophy and a strong advocate of the Kelly Operation, he is the author of over 40 peer reviewed articles on paediatric Urology and 15 chapters in major text books.
