    Mr Dirk Strauss is a Consultant Surgical Oncologist and General Surgeon in the Sarcoma and Melanoma Unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital. He qualified as General Surgeon in Cape Town, South Africa. In 2005-2007, after qualification as General Surgeon he undertook a two-year fellowship at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London in Upper Gastro-Intestinal Surgery with special emphasis on surgery for oesophago-gastric malignancies, upper GI endoscopies, laparoscopic surgery and Emergency and General Surgery. He completed the International Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital in 2008.

    Preceding his full-time consultant appointment at The Royal Marsden, Mr Strauss carried out a combined Research and Clinical Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital, culminating in several peer-reviewed publications and national and international presentations in the field of Oncology, Sarcoma and Melanoma. He has a special interest in retroperitoneal and intra-abdominal sarcomas.
