    Dr James Teo is a consultant neurologist with an interest in stroke and Parkinson’s Disease. He began his undergraduate medical training at University of Oxford and Royal Free Medical School. His postgraduate training was throughout the south-east (including Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, Royal Marsden Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital, University College London Hospital).

    He also holds a PhD in Clinical Neurology at the internationally prestigious UCL Institute of Neurology, Queen Square. He has written more than 30 peer-reviewed academic papers on topics ranging from Parkinson’s Disease to stroke, and his submission to the Michael J Fox Parkinson's Data Challenge in 2012 on the use of smartphones in Parkinson’s Disease was awarded an Honorable Mention. This work has led him into using digital technology for health, and is chief investigator of a stroke prevention trial using a wearable patch. He is an investigator in a number of NIHR-portfolio clinical trials in stroke.

    He has a specialist interest in stroke rehabilitation, stroke prevention, brain injury rehabilitation, Parkinson’s Disease and headache disorders.
