Upper GI

Complex GI Centre

Which patients can benefit?

We treat patients with complex benign upper GI problems. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Giant hiatus hernia
  • Complicated acid reflux
  • Achalasia
  • Diverticula
  • Anatomical abnormalities

We also treat patients with post-operative complications, including those who need re-operative surgery after primary upper GI surgery.

Examples of treatments and procedures

  • Revision and complex procedures

As well as performing complex upper GI procedures, our team specialises in revisional surgery for patients where a previous procedure has either failed or can be improved.

  • Salvage and rescue surgery after severe complications

Our highly skilled team also specialises in surgery where patients are critically ill or have suffered severe complications following an operation or interventional procedure.

  • Multidisciplinary team management of surgery

Our clinicians and clinical teams work as a team to ensure patients receive a highly structured personalised plan, from nutrition and pre-operative preparation through to post-operative rehabilitation.
