LOC Cancer services

Immunotherapy
A type of cancer treatment that helps your own immune system fight cancer. Immunotherapy is only available for certain types of cancers.

Radiotherapy
Uses high energy external radiation beams to target tumour cells with the intention of controlling, reducing and, where possible, eradicating tumours.

Chemotherapy
The most common and well-known systemic anti-cancer therapy. There are different types of chemotherapy available.

Hormone Therapy
Uses drugs to lower or block the level of hormones in your body to slow down or stop the growth of cancer.

Cancer surgery
Surgery can be used to further diagnose the type and stage of cancer, to treat it or reduce your risk of developing cancer.

Clinical trials
As part of HCA UK, Sarah Cannon Research Institute UK (SCRI UK) provides access to cutting-edge therapies.
Types of cancer we treat at LOC
We treat all forms of adult cancer, from the most common to the very rare.
You will be under the care of one LOC consultant and there will be a team of specialists planning your care every step of the way. By combining their expertise, we ensure each individual receives the most effective and personalised treatment plan.

Research and Clinical trials
Clinical trials are available for all stages of cancer, and not only for those with advanced disease. Many of our consultants are personally involved in these clinical trials and so can advise you on what is relevant to your condition. If your consultant believes that you are eligible for enrolment into a clinical trial, they will liaise directly with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute team and will continue to be closely involved in your care.
All clinical trials at Sarah Cannon Research UK follow the strict rules set by the Department of Health and are approved by an Ethics Committee in the UK, to ensure that the highest standards of safety are maintained at all times.

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with cancer, contact our dedicated patient liaison team or request a second opinion online. No direct referral from a doctor is necessary.
