HCA Chef of the Year 2017
Congratulations to Lam Tran from The Princess Grace Hospital for winning the HCA Chef of the year 2017. Lam won the competition by creating two new dishes which stood out to the judges as fresh and inventive.
Second place was awarded to Hao yuan Han from the London Bridge Hospital with Jack Almazan taking third for The Lister Hospital
The 6 finalists from the hospitals wowed the judges and produced a range of meals, making the competition tight, with a very close result.
About the HCA Chef of the Year competition
Chefs from the HCA Group were invited to showcase their individual skills and quality, by participating in a HCA Chef of the Year Competition. The competition was held at The Knorr kitchen in Leatherhead, on Friday 9th of June.
- Each chef was given two hours to produce two courses of their choice
- Maximum cost of the dish cannot exceed £8.50
- Each chef must produce two plates of each dish
- One chef de partie or levels below were allowed to enter from each HCA facility
Judges from HCA Healthcare UK included: Mike Neeb the Group CEO, Manisha Shah Executive Director, VP Clinical Services & Patient Safety and Nicola Gilles HR Director.
The HCA Chef of the Year competition is supported by Unilever Food Solutions to motivate and inspire developing chefs in the HCA Healthcare UK Group.
