Dr Timothy Poate is a Consultant in Oral Medicine at King's College Hospital in London. He completed his dental training at Guy's Hospital in 1990 and completed medical training at St Bartholomew's Hospital in 1996. He then returned to Guy's Hospital for his specialist training in Oral Medicine. Dr Poate has considerable expertise in the management of facial pain, running a facial pain clinic at King's College Hospital. He has a particular interest in the management of patients with temporomandibular joint disorder and Burning Mouth Syndrome.He also has expertise in the full range of Oral Medicine including oral ulceration, lichen planus, oral mucosal lesions, lumps and bumps in the mouth, disorders of the tongue, premalignant conditions, white patches, red patches, dry mouth, taste disorders, orofacial granulomatosis, oral manifestations of systemic disease and drugs.
