Welcome to the Lung & Respiratory Clinic 

The Lung and Respiratory Clinic at The Lister Hospital specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of lung and chest conditions, both benign and malignant. Our objective is to assist you with your respiratory and lung conditions whether minor, chronic, or for something more acute.


The Clinic is managed by an integrated clinical team of specialists, involving dedicated respiratory physicians, radiologists, pathologists, thoracic surgeons and oncologists treating benign and malignant lung conditions. We offer a comprehensive lung and respiratory service to provide the best treatments for our patients on an individual basis.

Diagnosis and treatment of lung conditions

We aim to offer consultations within 24 hours and same-day investigations and diagnostics, all accessible via our fast-track diagnostic service. 

Further investigations when appropriate may require 48 hours to be organised. We aim to  obtain a diagnosis and start the appropriate treatment according to your condition in the shortest possible time

A multidisciplinary approach to complex lung and respiratory cases

Every case of suspected lung cancer, and other more complex respiratory conditions are discussed at the multidisciplinary Lung Service meeting.

These MDT meetings are made up of a range of respiratory specialists including, respiratory physicians, oncologists, thoracic surgeons, radiologists and clinical nurse specialists, who will discuss individual cases and outline the most suitable options to manage with your condition.

The outcome of this meeting will be sent to your GP within 48 hours.

How to access the Lung and Respiratory Clinic

A GP referral is preferable but not mandatory. You can also refer yourself. No paper referral is required.
