Dr Paul Watts
MBBS, PhD, MRCP FRCP
General Neurology, Parkinson's Disease, Movement Disorders, Dizziness, Balance, Vertigo, Headache
My registrar training in general neurology began at the Royal Free Hospital and sub-specialty training was completed at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen's Square, London. Prior to receiving my CCST, I was attached to the department of Neurology at the Mount Sinai Medical Centre, New York, in the capacity of visiting registrar. I was an MRC Clinical Training Fellow at King's College, London, where I received a PhD in neuropharmacology for work on the role of P450 enzymes in the basal ganglia in Parkinson's disease. During this time, I had clinical attachments at the Royal Free and the national Hospital, Queen's Square under the supervision of Professors AHV Schapira and CD Marsden. I have over eight years post-graduate experience in clinical neurology and many original publications in neurology and the neurosciences.I was appointed to the post of Consultant Neurologist at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital NHS Trust and the Royal Free Hospital, London, in March 2002. My clinical interests encompass all aspects of neurology but I have developed particular interest in the management of Parkinson's disease, balance disorders/vertigo and headache.
