Acute Neurological Rehabilitation Unit

The Wellington Hospital is home to the only CARF-accredited neuro-rehab unit in London and the largest private unit of its kind in the UK.

We provide inpatient and outpatient programmes for conditions such as:
- Stroke
- Traumatic brain or spinal injury
- Encephalitis
- Multiple sclerosis (MS) and Guillain-Barre syndrome
- Parkinson’s disease

Our neurology service is supported by more than 100 consultants and comprehensive diagnostic tests, including specialist neurophysiology and neuroimaging, to address the full spectrum of neurological conditions.


Our operating theatres and intensive care units are fully equipped to provide surgical care for even the most complex neurological problems, offering everything from minimally invasive spinal procedures to major intracranial surgery.

Our neuroscience team includes leading experts in the fields of neurosurgery, neurology, clinical and medical oncology, spinal surgery, maxillofacial and skull base surgery. They work closely with our clinical nurses, rehabilitation specialists and therapists to provide an exceptional level of care.
It is a constantly evolving specialism and keeping abreast of the latest research and evidence is vital to make sure patients are getting the safest and more appropriate treatment.

Hospitals at the forefront

The Wellington Hospital also has the largest private ICU in the country, providing full emergency support along with dedicated neurosurgical wards that can offer acute care.

The London Neurosurgery Partnership, working out of The Harley Street Clinic, recently became the first in the UK to offer minimally invasive brain surgery using the ROSA robot.

We diagnose and treat brain tumours and complex neurological disorders using the most advanced technology, including:
- PET-CT and MRI scanning
- CyberKnife® and Gamma Knife
- the Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator (CUSA)

Our consultants also use the latest microscopes, intraoperative image guidance and will soon pioneer a new interventional MRI scanner at The Wellington Hospital.
