We help individuals and couples with complicated fertility problems or circumstances to achieve their goal of a family

Overview

We provide a holistic approach to investigating and treating fertility problems. Even if you've been turned away elsewhere, we give you all the information you need to make decisions about your treatment. And if you have a chance of success, we let you know. Many of our patients successfully start a family, often after being declined treatment elsewhere. In fact, our success rates are consistently among the best in the UK. Our laboratory offers the latest fertility treatments including IMSI which allows better selection of sperm for treatment. CGH for genetic testing of embryos to either improve success rates or exclude known medical problems, and time-lapse imaging techniques to improve embryo selection. We also offer tests to exclude causes of recurrent miscarriage, carry out 3D pelvic scans and offer surgical expertise to diagnose or treat problems causing fertility issues.

Expertise

Our fertility consultants cover all aspects of fertility treatment, reproductive health and assisted reproduction for those having trouble conceiving.

  • Egg donation

    Need to know

Egg donation is a voluntary service that can offer a solution to women who want to have children but can't. We also run an egg sharing programme where you can share your eggs with women who need them in exchange for your own free IVF treatment. The whole egg donation process takes about a month.

  • In vitro fertilisation (IVF)

    Need to know

IVF is used to treat a variety of fertility problems. During IVF treatment, sperm is combined with an egg in a laboratory. The fertilised egg (embryo) is then transferred to a woman's womb. IVF can be carried out with a couple's own sperm and eggs, or with donor sperm or donor eggs.

  • Intrauterine insemination (IUI)

    Need to know

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a fertility treatment that can boost the chances of pregnancy for couples who are unable, or find it difficult, to have sexual intercourse. It can also be used for single women or couples who are using donor sperm or have male-factor fertility problems, such as low...

  • Low ovarian reserve

    Need to know

If you have a low ovarian reserve, we don't think you should be declined or discouraged from having fertility treatment. Rather, we believe you should have the right to choose based on being given accurate, honest information about your chances of getting pregnant. This ethos has enabled us to build...

  • Natural or mild IVF

    Need to know

As part of IVF treatment, your consultant may suggest a course of medication to boost your body's egg production (ovulation). However, 'natural cycle IVF' is sometimes the best approach. Natural cycle IVF means that no fertility medication is used to stimulate ovulation. Instead, the aim is to collect...

  • Pelvic ultrasound

    Need to know

Pelvic ultrasound can help your consultant diagnose conditions such as endometriosis or fibroids, as well as assessing the general health of the womb lining. It can be used to investigate pelvic pain or abnormal vaginal bleeding. It is also one of the key components of a fertility assessment. A thin,...
