HCA's London hospitals recognised for excellence by leading international medical journal

HCA International (HCA) has won a major international award for its medical tourism work.

HCA was named Specialist International Patient Centre of the Year by medical publication The International Medical Travel Journal at their annual awards.

The award was presented to Khadija Mouhajer, Director of International Business Services, in recognition of the investment and high quality service that attracts patients to HCA in London. HCA International beat off competition from similar medical groups from around the world to clinch the award.

The awards took place on 5th March at a high profile reception in Dubai during the International Medical Travel Exhibition and Conference (IMTEC), which brings together all the pre-eminent providers and experts in medical travel and medical tourism.

Mike Neeb, President and CEO of HCA International, commented:

“Some of the best doctors in the world choose to practice at HCA's hospitals and many patients travel to London to access their skills. HCA is often competing in a global healthcare market, facing alternatives in Germany, the United States and Singapore among others. Our hospital group strives to provide not only the best treatment and outcomes, but also the best overall service for patients, in the knowledge that it must maintain the highest standards and best quality of care every day of the year.

“HCA’s recognition as an award winner with IMTJ is a very pleasing endorsement of HCA’s continual focus in welcoming an increasing number of overseas patients into HCA Hospitals in London. Weare delighted to have our work at HCA recognised by the International Medical Tourism Journal.”

Chairman of the judging panel and Managing Editor of IMTJ Keith Pollard, says the awards celebrate the best providers in the industry and aim to encourage others to strive to match them:

“Medical travel is an exciting and growing global industry, with many providers delivering excellence in both medical care and customer service. The IMTJ Medical Travel Awards are the first independent awards to recognise those who are the best of the best and hopefully to encourage others to emulate them. The judges wanted to reward innovation and excellence, highlight best practice and celebrate those who are leading the way in the industry and delivering successful outcomes for patients.

“All our winners exemplify the way the medical tourism industry should be run – professional, offering exceptional patient care and providing the best possible medical outcomes. I’m already looking forward to next year’s awards in the hope that other clinics and companies will have raised their game to match or even better this year’s winners.”
